The

12 national parks have been developed in Burkina Faso. A wide range of flora and fauna can be explored in these national parks of Burkina Faso. Few of the renowned national parks in Burkina Faso include:

The
environment of Burkina Faso has further been refreshed by the development of wildlife reserves in Burkina Faso. The wildlife reserves of Burkina Faso covers a total area of 2,855,000 hectares. For the preservation of the environment of Burkina Faso, 10.4% of the land area has been protected by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
The three wetlands in Burkina Faso play an important role in the purification of Burkina Faso environment. A survey of World Resources Institute has found 452 kinds of birds, 1,100 types of plants and 147 mammals in Burkina Faso. Few of the endangered mammal species in Burkina Faso include the chimpanzee, the African elephant, the African hunting dog. Few of the species of birds have also been considered as endangered species. The Ministry in association with various organizations are trying to save these species from going into extinction.
