North America Travel Map

North America is a continent located in the north-western hemisphere of the Earth. The continent of North America is surrounded by the North Atlantic Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean. It covers almost five percent of the total surface area of the Earth. North America is connected to South America by the Isthmus of Panama.

Continent of North America
North America is known for its scenic beauty and varied landscape ranging from the Rocky Mountains to rolling central plains and the snow-clad northern regions. The United States and Canada are the wealthiest and most economically developed nations in the North American continent. The Caribbean islands and countries in Central America are less economically developed, and agriculture and tourism have an important role to play in the economies of these countries. Mexico, to the South of the United States, has a large population and a mix of an agricultural and industrial economy, as well as a rich cultural heritage.

North America has a variety of tourist destinations from cosmopolitan cities such as New York, Washington D.C., Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to natural wonders such as Niagara Falls and Yosemite National Park, and entertainment destinations such as Hollywood, Las Vegas and Disneyland. Every year travelers from all around the world flock to North America. The natural diversity of the continent and the culture, festivals and cuisines of its countries add to the tourist attractions of North America.
