Gaighat Map

Gaighat is a small city in Nepal. The city is a commercial center of Udayapur district of Nepal. Gaighat has a rich historical lineage dating back to the Sen Dynasty.
Gaighat in Nepal is a new name for an ancient place. The older name of Gaighat is Triuga. The Gaighat region of Nepal is a picturesque tourist destination. The city is located on the Udayapur valley. Udayapur valley is the largest valley in the eastern region of Nepal. The famous Koshi Island wild life Reserve is located near Gaighat. The wild life resort is situated in a large island off the Koshi river. The Reserve is the habitat of the wild water buffalo of Nepal. The Koshi Wildlife Reserve is also home to a large variety of animals like spotted deer, hog deer, blue bull and wild boar. It is also the residence of more than 200 varieties of avian varieties including rare species of duck, egrets, herons and storks.

Gaighat of Nepal is connected to the rest of Nepal by well maintained roads that are accessible all the year around. The Sagarmatha highway originating from Lahan connects Gaighat with the Mahendra highway that connects all part of Nepal. Hotels and resorts are available at Gaighat.
