Bhatgaon is situated only 8 miles away from Kathmandu. Bhatgaon in Nepal is the city of medieval art and architecture. Founded by King Ananda Deva, in 889 Ad it is shaped like a conch shell.
Bhatgaon is also famous for well preserved ancient buildings belonging 17th and 18th century.

There are regular flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Kolkata, and all the major airports across the world to Kathmandu. The capital city of Kathmandu can also be reached by road. There are several routes from India to reach the city. Several modes of transport like car and buses can carry tourists to Kathmandu. From India, Tourists can travel through Raxoul via Virganj to Reach Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, car and buses will reach the tourists there. From Kathmandu this place can be reached by public transport and trolley buses.

The buildings in City of Bhatgaon in Nepal have most striking appearance than in other Nepalese town. Under the Malla Dynasty in Nepal the architecture flourished. Nepal's architecture reached its zenith in 11th century and the some of them are in remnants and others are still standing tall. The cities were subjected to various invasions; some buildings are still in tact.

The important places to visit are Durbar Square, 55 window palace also known as known as National gallery. There are also many temples here which are worth visiting. Nyatapole, the five storied pagoda type temple is beautifully crafted is also a famous place to visit.
