Wilfried Linder was born in 1959. He was a student of mathematics and geography in the University of Hannover (1979 – 85). Then he worked as a scientific assistant in the Universities of Vechta, Hanover and Düsseldorf. He received Ph.D in Geography in the year 1990 and in Geodesy in 1993. Now he is an active member of the Institute of Geography, Düsseldorf University, where he deals with -Geographic Information System, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS).
