About Kayseri
Kayseri is a large, industrialized city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. It is the seat of the Kayseri province which is located at the center of Turkey. This city is structurally composed of five metropolitan districts, including the two core districts of Kocasinan and Melikgazi. It is situated at the foot of the extinct volcano Mount Erciyes which stands at 3,916 meters (12,848 feet) over the city. Kayseri boasts historical monuments and edifices dating back to the Seljuk and Ottoman era. This city is usually visited on the way to international tourist attractions such as Cappadocia but it has many tourist attractions by its own right. Apart from the historical monuments in and around the city center, it has the Mount Erciyes which is a trekking and alpinism center as well as the Zamant? River which is great for rafting. Kayseri is served by Erkilet International Airport. It is home to the Erciyes University.
