Miami (Florida) as a wedding destination

Here’s why you should plan your wedding at Miami, Florida

You do not need a reason to visit Miami. Miami is well, Miami. Beautifully sculpted bonitas line the South Beach, happy waiters serve the best cocktails of your life while belly dancers oblige you with a jiggle on restaurant tables. If you are a pair of happy clubbers, looking at marriage mainly because couple entry into a club is way cheaper than a stag entry, Miami is the ideal place to start your life together. What could beat an exchange of wedding vows followed by a full night of mojito drinks and tequila shots at some of the best nightclubs in the world? A shot of Cuban coffee the next morning, will have you up and running in no time.

WHERE: Several yatch companies and high end hotels in Miami offer specialized wedding services. A few of the famous hotels where you can tie your knot are the Palms Hotel and Spa, Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club, Jacaranda Country Club, Fontainebleu Miami Beach.

While you are savoring your newfound freedom after marriage, Miami, as a destination, has a lot to offer to your wedding guests. If you are getting married in stone crab season (which runs from October 15 to May 15) book tables at Joe’s Stone Crab for your entire wedding party. The stone crab, a delicacy in itself, is steamed to perfection at Joe’s and served with an unforgettable side of grilled tomatoes and hashed browns.

If you want to look beyond the nightlife, step out of South Beach, and into the residential areas of the city. You will find friendly Cuban and Mexican eateries all over that serve local delicacies at merciful prices. These places are ideal if you wish to sneak away for some time alone for quiet contemplation.

And if you have a couple of days to spare, set off to Orlando, a four-hour drive from Miami to explore the magic world of Disney theme parks. Add a sprinkle of Cinderella’s magic to your wedded life, and let the journey begin.
