Provinces of Uzbekistan stretch from Kazakhstan in the north to Afghanistan in the south and Turkmenistan in the west to Kyrgyzstan in the east. There are thirteen provinces in Uzbekistan.

Provinces in Uzbekistan

Andijan province is located in the eastern region of Fergana Valley and it covers an area of nearly 4200 square kilometers. City of Andijan is the administrative center of this province of Uzbekistan. Karasu, Shahrikhan, Khodjaabad, Khanabad, and Asaka are the other main centers of the province of Andijan.




Bukhara province in Uzbekistan is also one of the major province and it covers an area of nearly 39400 square kilometers. City of Bukhara is the administrative center of this province and Karakol, Alat, Gazly, Romitan, Vabkent and Shavi are the major towns of the province.


Djizzak province is located in the central part of Uzbekistan covering an area of 20,500 square kilometers. Djizzak province is further divided into eleven administrative centers. Cotton and cereals are grown extensively in this province and Gagarin, Duskit, Gallyaaral and Mardanbulak are the major towns of the province.

Fergana province, which is the most important province is located in the southern region of Fergana valley. Covering an area of 6800 square kilometers, Fergana province is divided into fifteen administrative centers.

Kashkadrya, Khorezm, Namangan, Samarkand, Sukhandarya, Syrdarya, Tashkent, Republic of Karalpakistan are the other major provinces of Uzbekistan.
