Uzbekistan population represent nearly 130 nationalities and most of them are Uzbeks. The population also comprises of Russian, Kazakhs, Tatras, Karakalpaks and Tajikhs.
Size and Distribution of Uzbekistan Population
As Uzbekistan is mostly a rural country, more than sixty percent of its population lives in the rural areas of Uzbekistan. Tashkent, Samarqand, Bukhoro, Farghona,Quqon, Namangan and Andijon are the major cities of Uzbekistan and the population is dense in these areas. The population is also dense in the Ferghana Valley, Kashkadraya and Zarafsan Valley as the land here is excellent for the growth of cotton, grapes and lemons. The desert areas have very low population due to the unfavorable climatic conditions. Katakalpakstan in Navoi Region has the lowest population.
