Somalia Region is located in the eastern side of the land of Ethiopia. Somalia region is also called the Somali land and there are certain cities and towns that are part of the Somalia region.

The capital of Somalia is Mogadishu and most of the people lead a nomadic life in the Somali land. They are “Shilavo” , “Werder”, “Gode” and many others. The conventional land of Ogaden forms a considerable part of the region of Somalia. A large expanse of Somalia region is filled with sandy desserts. The region of Somalia has a combined economy and it is founded to a great extent upon agriculture and farming.




Characteristics of the Region of Somalia

The region of Somalia has an average population of 4, 300, 000 people where the population of men is more than women. “Ogaden” has a historical background of its own. This region of Somalia has the largest population and is known as the “greater Somalia”. The traditional tribes of Somalia are called the Amharas, Oromos and Gurages. There are people from other religions who co-exist with these clans such as the Muslims and Christians. The region of Somalia is gradually getting established and mostly the rural population exists in the land of Somalia.
