The land of Mongolia is primarily a plain without any tree in it. This is called steppe. Tavan Bogd Uul or the Nayramadlin Orgil is the highest altitude in this country. It rises almost 4,374 meter above the sea level. The peak is located in the Altay Mountains On the other hand the lowest point of the country is the Hoh Nuur, which goes down up to 518 meters below the sea. It is located in the eastern region of the country Mongolia.

Mongolia is located in the junction of China and Russia. It lies in the eastern region of the Asian continent. On its northern side, there is Russia. On the southern side of Mongolia, there is People’s Republic of China.


Climate Of Mongolia

Flag Of Mongolia

The flag of Mongolia is rectangular in shape and consists of total three colors. The flag contains three vertical bands that are same in size. The band in the hoist side and the band in the fly side are colored in red. The band in the middle of the flag is blue. The flag also features the national emblem of Mongolia. It is shown in the red band that is on the hoist side. The national emblem is colored in yellow. The emblem is called “soyombo”. It is a Buddhist icon. It is in fact a gathering of some geometric figures and some abstract figures. These figures individually symbolize the fire, moon, earth, sun, water and the symbol of yin-yang.

Flora And Fauna Of Mongolia

Flora : The flora of Mongolia is very rich with various species. This diverse vegetation of Mongolia contributes to the flora of entire Asia. Some unique species of Manchurian steppe flowers and steppe plants grow widely in the forests of Mongolia. Some other species that are found in this country are lichens, vascular plants, mosses, fungi and many more species. Besides these, endemic plants and some relict species can also be found in the various corners of Mongolia.


Fauna : Like flora of the country, the animal kingdom is also diverse. Cattle, wild sheep, goats, camels, horses etc are found in large number in this country. The fauna of Mongolia includes several species of the northern region of Siberia and the desert lands of Asia. Different types of mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles, fish and other animals can be found in the country. Among all these the Saiga tatarica mongolica (a kind of antelope), some unique species of jerboa etc are also found.

People Of Mongolia

Mongolia is a densely populated country. Various ethnic groups have united here to form a diversity in the country. The total population of the country is almost 2,832,224. Kazakh covers the majority of this huge population. The other majorities are Dorvod, Urianhai, Buriad, Dariganga, Bayad, Zahchin, Oolld Torguud etc. on the other hand, the minorities include some Russians and Chinese. The official language of the country is Khalkha Mongolian. However Kazakh, Russian, and Chinese languages are also spoken in various parts of Mongolia.

Art, Culture And Music Of Mongolia

•  Art : Handicrafts crafts, some unique patterns and handmade embroidery works are very popular in Mongolia. Rock and cave painting are also common practice in the country.
•  Culture : there are various ethnic groups in this country. So you can well imagine that the culture of Mongolia is a diverse and rich culture. Influences from various castes, tribes and religions have been accepted in the Mongolian tradition. Naadam is a major festival of the country. In this festival the celebration of the anniversary of Mongolian independence.
The main festival is Naadam, which celebrates the anniversary of Mongolian independence from China. It is held on July 11 to July 13, and consists of three Mongolian traditional sports: archery, horse-racing (over long stretches of open country, not the short racing around a track practiced in the West), and wrestling. Very popular is the “flicking” of sheep footbones at a target several feet away, using a flipping motion of the finger to send the small bone flying at a target and trying to knock the target bone off the platform. This contest at Naadam is very popular and develops a serious audience.
•  Music: Mongolian people are music lovers. Music is an important section of the Mongolian culture.You will also find some European element in the music of Mongolia. The traditional music of Mongolia focuses on the length of the songs. Khoomii is also a very popular form of music in this country. This sing is sung by throat. Khoomii is performed especially in the western region of the country.

Economy Of Mongolia

Herding and agriculture are two very important aspects of Mongolian economy. Minerals like copper, molybdenum, tin, coal, tungsten, gold etc are found in voluminous quantity in this country. The natural resources of the country are oil, molybdenum, coal, phosphates, copper, tungsten, tin, zinc, fluorspar, nickel, gold, silver, iron etc. The agricultural products of the country are wheat, vegetables, forage crops, barley and so on. Some of the fast growing industries are food and beverage industry, cement industry, textile industry, leather goods, chemical industry, carpet industry etc. The materials that are exported to the foreign countries are copper, livestock, animal products, cashmere, apparel, wool, fluorspar and so on. Mongolia usually runs the export business with China, Canada and US. Among them China is the primary export partner of Mongolia. China is also a source for the revenue of the country.
