Western Transdanubia



Western Transdanubia is among the most prominent statistical units of Hungary. It is basically a part of Transdanubia. Western Transdanubia covers the counties Vas, Zala and Gyor-Moson-Sopron.

Probably after the Hungarian capital city Budapest the most dynamic Hungarian region is the Western Transdanubia. Being closely situated beside Austria the unique natural resources, along with the history and traditions of this region enabled the Western Transdanubia to set up the flourishing industry and tourism.

It is also said that in this specific region the ethnic minorities including Germans and Croats reside and since a long time they pride in their traditions and treasures and also succeeded to preserve them. There is no doubt in the fact that the well-preserved tradition of those people has added a special charm to the Western Hungary.
