Aysen is also known as the XIth Region in Chile. Located in the southern part of Chile, Aysen boasts of beautiful hills rivers, sparkling lakes and forests. Aysen serves as the transition between Patagonia and Chilean forest.

Aysen Attractions

The beautiful landscape of the Aysen region attracts tourists from all parts of the country. Queulat and San Rafael are the major tourist spots which offer wonderful views of the surrounding area. The thermal baths of Queulat are very famous. The Floating ice mountains on the sparkling lakes are lovely to watch. The handicrafts of this Aysen region in Chile are very famous and sold in almost all the local shops.

The capital of the region, Coyhaique is located very close to the McKay hill. The eternal rivers and the verdant valleys of the region are worth watching. Coyhaique is a well developed city and the excellent restaurants situated here offer mouthwatering cuisine. The Indian Stone in the city of Coyhaique is a beautiful place and the tourists can spend their evenings strolling along the path.

General Carrera and Blanco lakes, Simpson and Baker Rivers enhance the beauty of the region. Chile Chico which is also known as small Chile has a wonderful climate.
