Las Vegas is the world’s entertainment capital, with casinos and gambling, live performances, nightclubs, roller coasters, and more. At night the Strip offers stunning views with multi-colored lights turned on everywhere.

Vegas is one of the most popular getaways for adults, but has plenty for families to enjoy as well. The Las Vegas Strip has places like the Bellagio, Venetian, and Wynn resorts for people seeking luxury. Themed pools offer solace from the Vegas heat and frequently host pool parties.

Many of the casinos offer entertainment, ranging from free shows like the Sirens of TI show at Treasure Island, the Fall of Atlantis and Festival Fountain at Caesars Palace, Bellagio Fountains and the Mirage Volcano, to world renowned acts like Cirque du Soleil, and the Blue Man Group. Iconic singers such as Celine Dion, and famed magicians like Criss Angel and David Copperfield frequently perform at Vegas casinos.

The charm of Las Vegas has made it a featured destination in world cinema. An endless list of films including “The Las Vegas Story” (1952), “They Came to Rob Las Vegas” (1968), “Diamonds Are Forever” (1971), “Midnight Run” (1988), “Casino” (1995), “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001), “Ocean’s Thirteen” (2007), “Last Vegas” (2013) and many more have been shot in Las Vegas.

The Strip has a movie theatre named the 10-screen Regal Showcase Theatre located in the Showcase Mall next to the MGM Grand. Owned and run by Regal Entertainment Group, this property opened to the public in 1997.

There are numerous shopping attractions on the Strip; the most prominent is the ‘World’s Largest Gift Shop’ called the Bonanza Gift Shop spanning over 40,000 square-feet of shopping space.

With about 300 sunny days each year, Las Vegas is a good destination throughout the year. Las Vegas can get very hot during the summer, though as it is a hot and dry place with a desert climate. Usually people spend the day inside an air-conditioned casino or at one of the luxurious pools.
