Myeongdong is one of the prime shopping destinations in South Korea. Whether you are an elite shopper or a street shopper, the shopping district of Myeongdong has something for everyone. It is one of the fussiest places located in the heart of the Korean city of Seoul. This shopping district has a number of shops and restaurants that allure the tourists. Shinsegae and Lotte are two main departmental stores in the area. The shopping district of Myeongdong is a heaven for women as there are a lot of shops that sell fashionable clothes and cosmetics. The street stalls scattered all over the market area offers a range of assorted items, ranging from inexpensive clothes and accessories to lip-smacking snacks. There are some good restaurants as well.

There is no dearth of branded stuff at Myeongdong. There are about 1,000 cosmetic shops in the district. H&M and Migliore are the two shopping malls in the area that sell quality products at modest prices. Inexpensive products are available at street stalls and other shops. Some of the cosmetic shops are flocked around Jungang-gil central street. The chief cosmetic brands, such as The Face Shop, Aritaum, Todacosa, Nature Republic, and Skinfood. Some of the shops have employed their own skin specialists to help the shoppers select the products based upon their individual skin type.

The salesmen speak a few international languages, which gives a nice shopping experience to the tourists who don’t speak the Korean language. The district has a well-developed transportation network to make traveling easier for the visitors.

Along with the fine shopping experience, you may visit the Myeongdong Cathedral, the Bank of Korea Museum, Cheonggye Park, and the 600-year-old Namdaemun Market.
