Jebel Hafeet Mountain stands tall as a guard to the Al Ain city

The Jebel Hafeet Mountain located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi are an important landmark of UAE. The Jebel Hafeet Mountain stretches till the border of Oman and a part of the city of Dubai. Many visitors like to climb up the mountain featuring a height of 1,249 meters. A long road of about 13 kilometers, appearing like a snake, winds up till the peak of the mountain. The top of the mountain has a radar station and the only hotel.

This is one of greatest driving roads in the world built by Strabag International of Cologne, a German company. The road stretches for 7.3 miles and climbs around 4,000 feet. Even though the road features 60 corners, yet it has a smooth surface. The mountain is also used for cycling competitions.

The scenery around the mountain is very beautiful. Once you are on the hilltop, the panoramic view of the vicinity is sure to impress you. The best view available from the Jebel Hafeet Mountain is of the Al Ain oasis city which looks like a pearl studded in the arid landscape of UAE.

The main reason for which the travelers flock to the Jebel Hafeet Mountain is the hot springs at its foothills. The travelers love to take a dip at the beautiful lakes near the Jebel Hafeet Mountain. The water bodies come as a respite to the travelers in this arid country.

Traveling to Jebel Hafeet Mountain is not a problem. Tourists can hire a private vehicle or rent a car to reach this spot. This tourist attraction is on the outskirts of the city and thus it’s better to plan a trip beforehand. A two-hour drive from the main city of Abu Dhabi will take you to the Jebel Hafeet Mountain.

Recalling the incident that took place in Apr 2013: a 31-year-old man plunged to death off Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, after which the authorities have urged visitors to remain careful on their visit to the Jebel Mountain. It was found that the man just slipped from the top of the mountain and died on the spot where he fell.
