As the eyes of football fans around the world turn towards Rio de Janiero, Brazil, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, they are sure to see some of the famous soccer players in the world in action at this premier tournament.

Scheduled to take place from 12 June to 13 July 2014, in the football-loving city of Rio de Janiero, the 20th FIFA World Cup is sure to provide lovers of the game with many memorable moments.

Fans will be eager to see if the defending champions Spain can hold on to the title or whether Brazil can build on its home crowd advantage and win the football world cup for a record sixth time. Brazil has previously hosted the world cup in 1950 and has invested heavily in developing stadiums and infrastructure for the forthcoming world cup. Brazilians are looking forward to hosting numerous football fans who are coming to see their favorite and famous football players delight them with their football skills. The sale of tickets has already begun on 20th August 2013 and FIFA officials expect to see packed stadiums across Brazil next summer. As many as 3.3 million tickets will be available, mostly sold through the FIFA website.

A total of 32 teams will be competing for the cup next year, after a gruelling series of qualifying matches over a span of three years. A new nation that has reached the finals for the first time at this event is Bosnia and Herzegovina. The matches will be spread over 12 cities in Brazil, so fans across the country will get to see the world’s best soccer players display their magic with the ball. The official ball of the 2014 world cup is the Adidas Brazuca and as they are mesmerized by the dazzling footwork on display, fans can dance along in keeping with the official slogan “All in one rhythm”.
