Important facts about Export Latvia

The Latvian Government introduced its export policies in the year 1995, which are based on the NSG, MTCR and AG guidelines. Latvia was accepted as the member of IAEA and NSG in the year 1997. The export policies of Latvia Government are based on the legal provisions of Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 421, Regulations of the Control Committee of Strategic Goods, Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 429 and Regulations of the Control of Strategic Goods.

Export Latvia Guidelines

There are certain important guidelines that are followed for the proper export of goods from Latvia, which requires a special mention. All of the applications asking for the grant of licenses for exports are dealt with special care. Licenses for the goods that are known to have dual usability are issued to the countries, which are either in state of war or posses the power to develop mass destruction weapons only after proper checks and precautions. This is also followed for the countries whose exporting systems are not based on MTCR, NSG or AG instructions. However, military goods are not exported to the type of destinations mentioned above.

Export Latvia is conducted on the basis of the instructions and under the guidance of the Latvian Export and Import Control Department, which is an important part of the Latvian Development Agency.
