Czech Republic Climate

The Czech Republic weather and climate can be categorized as a continental and temperate one. The land locked character of the country and the diverse geographical terrain of the country has resulted in a vast temperature difference between the summer and winter months. The Czech Republic climate and weather varies from one region of the country to the other. In the regions with higher altitude the temperature is relatively low but the rate of precipitation is high. However, in the other lower elevated areas of the country the temperature is more or less uniform.

The range of annual precipitation is fairly broad and it varies from 18 inches in and around the basins of central Bohemia to about 60 inches on the windward slopes of the mountains in the North. The level of precipitation in the Czech Republic weather and climate is maximum in the month of July and the lowest in February.

December, January and February are the coldest months of the year. These months are usually accompanied by light snowing in the mountains and often in the cities. The temperature ascends during the months of March, April and May and in the spring season the rivers are full due to the water from the melted snow. June, July and August are the warmest months in the Czech Republic weather and climate but the heat is accompanied by rains and storms.
