Bauska



Bauska’s geographical location is 56º 24′ N and 24º 11′ E at an altitude of 24 meters. Bauska is easily accessible from the airports at Barysiai, Riga and Pajuostis.

Bauska Latvia is located on a hill between rivers Memele and Musa. This place developed in the fifteenth century with the patronization of the Livonian Order. The Bausca Castle was the last Latvian castle built by the Livonian Order. Bauska is accessible by bus from Riga.

Bauska Sightseeing

Bauska Latvia has an attractive array of tourist spots. They include:

BAUSKA CASTLE – Located at the confluence of the Memele and Musa rivers, the Bauska Castle was the last Latvian castle built by the Livonian Order. The castle comprises a 15th century fortress, a 16th century forecastle converted to the residence of the Duke of Courland and a 17th/18th century ramparts.

All these places are open for visitors from 9am to 7pm between May and September, and from 9am to 6pm in October

BAUSKA MUSEUM OF REGIONAL STUDIES AND ART – This museum has a collection of art items of historical values. It also displays the region’s history. Except for Mondays the museum remains open on all days.

The timings are from 10am to 6pm between May and September, and from 10am to 5pm in October. However on Saturdays and Sundays the visiting hours are from 10am to 4pm.

Rundale Palace and Mezotne Palace are other important tourist attractions in Bauska Latvia.
