The heritage of Armenia has been considerably shaped by its long standing history. The Armenian settled in the 6 th century BC, in the kingdom of Urarty. Thereafter, Armenia was conquered by several kingdoms. In 1918, the independent Repiblic of Armenia became was formed. Later it became a part of the USSR. In 1991 Armenia announced its independence from Soviet Union.

Aremian folk songs are played on typical Armenian musical instruments. The famous Armenian churches are examples of authentic Armenian architecture and sculpture.

Armenian paintings flourished during the 19 th century. Armenia heritage rests on its beautiful language and literature. Armenia has a rich tradition of well developed manuscripts and folk tales. Weaving is popularly practiced here in addition to other handicrafts.
