From Functional Maps To Functionally Beautiful Maps…

From functional maps to functionally beautiful maps or beautiful functional maps, whichever, Mapsofworld.com has come a long way. People are unlikely to look for a beautiful map, however, they would always come back if the map is beautiful and they would share and recommend, too, if the map is accurate and beautiful. Upon this premise, we have been reviewing all our maps. Over last 12 months or so, we have replaced over one hundred maps! By definition, we look for three things during the review process – accuracy, aesthetics, and current status. We are confident that if we get these three things right, our maps would stand out.

At a country level, creating better-looking maps has been quite a reward. Traffic to these pages has grown considerably. Australia Map is one example we feel proud of as today we are a top reference for Australia Map, ahead of countless websites. This emboldens and encourages us to keep on transitioning.

While we are replacing old maps with new cartography, we decided to define a new set of guidelines for maps that are now going live, specially in sections, which are being created from scratch. All maps coming up in our San Francisco project are dashing and smart. They tell you what is where and they show up beautifully on any device. Yes, we have also completely shifted to mobile-first strategy for Mapsofworld.com. San Francisco Travel Map has become our first map from the new lot to go up for sale. Yes, we do sell map images in a digital format. We ourselves get surprised at times when we see our map sitting in a magazine or a flyer. Of course, we welcome these pleasant surprises.

Integration of such new-gen maps with our online store was no less critical. It gives us an incentive to change and spend a lot more in creating them. So far so good, our users are lapping up our new maps and we are confident of coming up with a few more products from these.  Check out and do share your feedback. Buy San Francisco Travel Map.
