Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0took the\u00a0Oath of Office<\/b>\u00a0as the\u00a0Vice President of United States of America<\/b>\u00a0in the year 1817.\u00a0Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0was also the President of the\u00a0Society for Encouragement of American Manufacturers<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0got involved more into New York politics and could not stay in Washington for longer periods while serving the tenure. During his tenure he tried hard to settle the developments in the\u00a0Stalen Island properties<\/b>\u00a0and negotiated with\u00a0Comptroller Archibald Mclntyre<\/b>\u00a0to get his wartime accounts settled down.<\/p>\n
Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0was in a bad shape due to the injury he had in the year 1814 after he fell off from the horse while he was in an inspection tour of\u00a0Fort Greene<\/b>. In the year 1817, he started serving his tenure after he recovered from his health related problems. His financial affairs didn’t give him much time to attend the duties of the Senate, though.<\/p>\n
Initially\u00a0Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0was favored by many due to his energetic and able leadership.<\/p>\n
In the year 1823,\u00a0Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0was provided with an essential accommodation by the Congress with a sum of 35,000$, as Monroe requested the Congress to do the same. In the year 1824, Tompkins returned to the Senate on 21st January, 1824. Finally on May 20th,\u00a0Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0took his final leave from the Senate.<\/p>\n
Although,\u00a0Daniel D. Tompkins<\/b>\u00a0could not serve his tenure as a vice president with full attention and care, he is still remembered for the act that he held the post for long, despite of the fact that he was not in his perfect health state while serving the tenure of the Vice President of United States of America.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
