Schnitzels made with various meats are served all over the world.However, they are most common in Europe. I first came across a proper schnitzel while visiting Austria where Wiener Schnitzel is served in most authentic local restaurants. In different countries, however, different meats are used to make a schnitzel. For instance, in Austria, you would find it mostly made of veal, while pork and chicken are also common as ingredients. In Germany and Finland, it is mostly served as pork while you also find turkey being used. In South American countries like Brazil and Columbia, you would find Schnitzels made of chicken, beef or fish. In Czech Republic, they are made with chicken or pork. Well what actually is a schnitzel? It is a boneless meat, tenderized then coated with eggs, bread crumbs and sometimes flour and deep fried in oil.
