Indigo deli is a restaurant,\u00a0cafe,\u00a0bakery,\u00a0patisserie,\u00a0 ice cream shop and a gourmet retail.<\/p><\/div>\n

Indigo deli is a restaurant,\u00a0cafe,\u00a0bakery,\u00a0patisserie,\u00a0 ice cream shop as well as a gourmet retail. It belongs to the chain of Indigo started by Rahul Akerkar and claims to rewrite the rules of gastronomy. So, there was no way I would miss going to this place. And to make the bias stronger,\u00a0I must confess that any place that serves an all-day breakfast is a place after my heart!<\/p>\n

The Ambiance<\/h2>\n

Oh!\u00a0 I loved the place! There is a wooden stairway(to food heaven? ) in the middle of the restaurant,\u00a0 graduated seating at three different levels,\u00a0an open kitchen,\u00a0 a large open shelf with bottles of wine and freshly baked breads, croissants and buns, jars of in-house preserves & pickles and even a quaint blackboard announcing the day’s specials in colored chalk.<\/p>\n

The Service<\/h2>\n

Service is impeccable.The servers are polished, helpful, quick and not intimidating in any way. – my wishlist granted\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The Food<\/h2>\n

By the time we perused the exhaustive menu, freshly baked breads in a bread basket with herbed butter magically appeared at our table and disappeared as fast!<\/p>\n

The Citrus salad (Rs. 485)<\/strong>– I often try to order a salad at every European style restaurant so that I can have my healthy portion of the meal before indulging into my gastronomic adventures. The citrus salad had fresh crisp lettuce in all its varieties, with kalimata olives,\u00a0peeled orange slices, feta cheese,\u00a0 fresh cherry tomatoes and red onions in a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. It was delicious!<\/p>\n

Mint lemon slush<\/strong> – Delightful,\u00a0fresh,\u00a0tangy with green mint crushed in ice with undertones of raw mango, definitely a not-to-be-missed palate cleanser.<\/p>\n

Tamarind chicken quiche<\/strong> – One of the best I’ve ever tasted. I got it cut in four as I wanted to try it as a starter,\u00a0 not a main and shared it with the family. I was immensely intrigued by the presentation \u2014 instead of the dense heavy potpie that usually a quiche is, this was more a crispy flaky filo layered open patty, and the filling was creamy, cheesy bits of chicken but not eggy.\u00a0 I thoroughly enjoyed this new dimension<\/p>\n

Lasagna<\/strong> – I loved the layered dish,\u00a0cooked to perfection, with succulent bites of mince meat, tomatoes, and a delicious dollop of cheesy sauce on top.<\/p>\n

Stuffed corn fed chicken<\/strong> – The chicken roulade was stuffed generously with brandied mushroom, bacon and was served with my favorite wilted spinach and surprisingly, yummy creamy cheesy Dijon grainy mustard sauce. This was a filling portion and presentation too was excellent.<\/p>\n

However, the icing on the cake was the ice cream itself. Indigo makes its ice creams in-house and they encourage you to walk down to the ice-cream counter inside the restaurant. \u00a0So, I ended up trying all the flavors from candy to salted butter pecan ,\u00a0Dulce de Leche,\u00a0 Baileys,\u00a0 Belgian chocolate,\u00a0 sour cherries in white chocolate,\u00a0 rocky road… and then having a tough time deciding which were the best. My personal favorite\u2019s vote finally goes to the caramelised salted butter pecan and the Dulce de Leche, which was creamy brown, dehydrated condensed milk (\u00a0like the main portion of a banoffee pie)\u00a0 while the kids loved the Chocolate Sundae with Belgian chocolate ,\u00a0Rocky Road,\u00a0 Marshmallows,\u00a0 Caramelised pecans,\u00a0 Chocolate sauce and whipped cream – absolutely divine,\u00a0 but still not as great as my favorite ice creams. The Tiramisu, though well-made was clearly not an out-of-the-world experience like the ice creams.<\/p>\n

The Pricing<\/h2>\n

<\/a>The meal was amazing, the experience awesome though a trifle expensive (Rs. 2500 to 3000\u00a0 for 2 without alcohol)\u00a0 but I would definitely go there again… and, again and again … for the breakfast menu,\u00a0 the thin crust pizzas,\u00a0 trying the other mains,\u00a0 repeating what I ate today, and\u00a0 the ice creams, any day!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
