Review of Diggin Restaurant (New Delhi)<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div>\n

Located conveniently in Anand Lok, Diggin has made its place in the cafe style eateries in Delhi and is always a welcome venue for coffee and a bite.<\/p>\n

The Location<\/span><\/h2>\n

No. 1& 2\u00a0 Anand Lok Shopping Centre
\nOpp Gargi College, New Delhi<\/p>\n

The Seating<\/span><\/h2>\n

It can seat a little more\u00a0than 80 people.\u00a0 Ample seating usually ensures nobody\u2019s kept waiting,\u00a0 which is a relief!<\/p>\n

The Ambiance<\/span><\/h2>\n

I just love the place!\u00a0 It\u2019s a pretty little corner of a small market with a quaint stairway going up to the first floor restaurant.\u00a0 It\u2019s really a welcome sight to see the wooden swing and outdoorsy seating,\u00a0 casual bohemian decor inside (done up by the owner’s mom,\u00a0 actually! ) with books and bookshelves,\u00a0 posters,\u00a0 English wall plates,\u00a0 and wall clocks\u00a0 reminiscent of an English tea house. It looks even prettier in the evenings,\u00a0when the fairy lights come on.<\/p>\n

The Service<\/span><\/h2>\n

The service is reasonably fine and the wait staff reasonably polite.<\/p>\n

The Food<\/span><\/h2>\n

The plating,\u00a0 portions and the flavors are a hit!<\/p>\n

I tried their special salad (Rs. 215),\u00a0which is a vegetarian option but can be topped with chicken or bacon( Rs. 65) .\u00a0 It\u2019s a delicious\u00a0 salad with crisp lettuce and\u00a0 rocket,\u00a0 cherry tomatoes, cooked beetroot, minty apples topped with goat cheese in\u00a0 balsamic and honey. I loved it, but I hope\u00a0 next time it\u2019s a little chilled with a generous portions of goat cheese.<\/p>\n

The Mushroom Feta Pizza (Rs. 325) was light,\u00a0 thin crust and perfect. The Baked Penne in Red Sauce (Rs. 325)\u00a0was ordinary,\u00a0 but,\u00a0 no complaints.<\/p>\n

I loved the Lamb Lasagna (Rs. 395). It had hints of home-style rustic cooking and was rich with perfectly cooked mince.<\/p>\n

I also tried the carbonara as\u00a0 not many restaurants can do it well,\u00a0 but this one matched my expectations,\u00a0 with the egg coating perfectly smooth, not split and the bacon crisp but not tough.<\/p>\n

The desserts are genuinely to die for with \u00a0each better than the other. It\u2019s a tough choice but I would suggest the Coffee Creme Brulee (Rs. 150)\u00a0 the blueberry cheese cake (Rs. 175), the Oreo Brownie Cheesecake(Rs. 195) and the Chocolate Fondant( Rs. 195),\u00a0 which had the most glorious oozy chocolate sauce in it. The red velvet cake and tiramisu which are also better than average definitely,\u00a0have to be given a miss because one is too spoilt for choice!<\/p>\n

Diggin is a lovely restaurant cum cafe, perfect for any time of the day. It appears more of an ideal girlie hangout with delicious food in generous portions. Definitely,\u00a0a must go again!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
