Escape into the Wild !
I must say that this is a must-see place whenever you are planning to visit Montreal. As the name suggests, Biodome preserves and displays numerous varieties of flora and fauna which cannot usually be seen on a daily basis. Ranging from the deep evergreen forests of the Amazon to the forests of the Canadian Rockies, it contains many endangered as well as exotic varieties of plants and animals. Montreal Biodome is one of the major tourist attractions of the city and is enormous in size. It is designed in such a way that it maintains the temperature/climate depending upon the needs of the animals. For example, when I came inside, I literally had to take off my jacket and other winter clothing because it was very hot and humid inside. Imagine coming inside after tolerating -20°c ! Exotic fishes like piranhas, animals like Amazonian monkeys, poison arrow frogs, penguins, etc. can be seen here. Prices are pretty reasonable and there are also many combos available which include a visit to the Biodome, Planetarium, and Olympic park.Visiting all the places cost around CAD 65, which is I believe is worth every penny!
