Anchorage Museum Anchorage Museum
Located in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city, the Anchorage Museum is one of the most popular destinations in the city and is frequented by people from all over the world. Since 1968, when it opened in a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) building with just a staff of two and a small collection of paintings and historic objects, the museum has grown exponentially and today encompasses a huge area 170,000 square feet. With a staff of more than 50 people, the museums collection comprises 25,000 objects and 500,000 historic photographs.

Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary

Here you can view some of the amazing bird species like the Canada geese, canvasback ducks, horned and red-necked grebes, northern pintails, red-necked phalaropes, northern harriers, gulls, Arctic terns, and shorebirds. But birds are not the only attraction here. You can also have a glimpse of other species like muskrats and Moose. Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary is around 15 minutes south of downtown Anchorage.

Old St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church Old St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church
Located some 30 minutes from downtown Anchorage, the Old St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church is one of the most popular tourist destinations and is frequented by visitors not only from the U.S.A. but from around the world. Also known as Eklutna Chapel, the church was built in 1870, but it is also believed that it was constructed as early as 1830. In 1900, the church was moved to its current location.

Kincaid Park Kincaid Park
Created in 1978, Kincaid Park is spread over an area of 1,516.78-acre. The park is quite popular among runners, bikers, hikers, archers, dog-trainers, soccer teams, etc. Some other games that tourists can indulge in include snowshoeing, sledding, and biathlon. When the weather is clear, visitors can catch a view of Denali from here.

Oscar Anderson House Museum
This structure was built in 1915. Situated at 420 M Street in downtown Anchorage, the structure was built by Oscar Anderson, the 18th person to have arrived in the Alaska state. It is now a historic house museum.

Kincaid Park Alaska Zoo
Discover the wildlife of Alaska at Alaska Zoo. It is an extremely popular destination among tourists and approximately 200,000 visitors visit the zoo every year to catch a glimpse of the amazing creatures that are found here. Home to more than 100 birds and mammals, some of the exotic species that are found here include yaks, Amur tigers, and Bactrian Camels.

The Alaska Aviation Museum provides a rare insight into the rich history of Alaska's aviation. Located on Lake Hood Seaplane Base, the museum displays over 30 aircrafts. Apart from this, the museum also comprises a Hall of Fame, a restoration hangar, two theatres, and flight simulators.
