Batticaloa one of the many important
cities of Sri Lanka lying on the east coast of the country is the capital city of the
Eastern Province.

Passekudah which is 4km long, is a longer stretch of beach than
Kalkudah which is 2km long. The duo have been jointly declared as the National Holiday Resort in the year 1973. The gentle waters provide for safe yet enjoyable wind surfing, water skiing and sun bathing. The waters lash inland from about 150 to 300 km.
