Trnava Slovakia, located in the western region of Slovakia is one of the country's oldest towns which were built during the 13th C. Previously a religious town of Hungary, Trnava Slovakia in the 17th C became a university
town. The town of Trnava consists of a number of historical relics and the ones from the 17th C provided the town with its nickname "The Slovak Rome".

Trnava Slovakia is an ancient town that represents the historical tradition and heritage of the land. Enveloped by medieval town walls of a Gothic character Trnava in Slovakia contains the old university which is situated in the north western region of the Old Town. Other such historic institutes in Trnava are Clarist convent, the University church of St. John the Baptist and the Franciscan church of St. James. These represent the rich historical, educational and architectural heritage of Trnava Slovakia.

A major tourist attraction is the Cathedral of St. Nicholas located in the region around the fortifications. It was built in the latter part of 14th C and proves to be an interesting visit. Several other churches and the Palace of the Archbishop should not be missed while touring Trnava.

There are a number of museums and art galleries in the town of Trnava, Slovakia. These include the Galeria Jana Koniarka, the Museum of Book Culture, the University, and the West Slovakia Museum.

Piestany, situated 35 Kilo meters from Trnava, is the most well known spa resort in Slovakia. Lake Slnava near Piestany is a lovely area and offers the visitors a pleasant visit. The castle of Cerveny Kamen made up of red stone is a must see.
