Martin Slovakia is the native city of the Matica Slovenska. The city houses a number of museums which reflects the rich culture of Martin Slovakia. The main Square is presently being renovated.
Located in the northern part of Slovakia, Martin is the eighth largest town in Slovakia.

The city of Martin Slovakia was the premier cultural hub of Slovakia in the 19th C. It was the seat of cultural and political activities in Slovakia and a center for industrialization. After Bratislava became the capital of Slovakia, Martin Slovakia lost its significance. But it retains the Slovak Matica and the Slovak National Museum till today which are important cultural centers.

A Romanesque church is one of the oldest buildings which are present in the city. The Slovak National museum in Martin contains an ethnographic collection which is not only impressive but also reflects the culture in Martin. The Slovak National Library is a significant attraction in Martin as it is an educational institute. There is an open air museum in the outskirts of the city which showcases the traditional architecture of the rural people and the folk culture of the area of Turiec. Another popular site is the Slovak National Cemetery which reflects an influence of the Pantheon in Paris.

The mountain ranges of Mala Fatra and Velka Fatra near Martin in Slovakia provide excellent grounds for skiing in summer and hiking in winter. Museums make up Martin city, Slovakia. There are a number of museums apart from the national Museum. A few tourist attractions are also found nearby the city of Martin. A visit to Martin is a trip down the lane of history and a dive into the culture of Slovakia.
