One of Colorado's famed 14ers, Pike's Peak is name many folks know. You can drive to the top, or even take a historic train. I decided to hike, and left at 5:30AM. It took eight hours, and was easy going...until the final two hours! The last bit was steep and the air was thin. Once at the top...it's a carnival atmosphere, as there are tons of people, a gift shop, and even a greasy-spoon restaurant. I did opt to take the train back down.
