Alentejo is a world of its own, a land of uncommon beauty and extraordinary people working in tandem to create vistas which pleases both the mind and the eye, and relaxes the soul with a contentment unavailable any where else.
The name "Alentejo" has reference to the mighty Tagus river, whichlies between the rest of Portugal and this region.Alentejo produces a lot of the grains that are available in Portugal. Alentejo has mountains, valleys, plains and an interesting coastline. There are 5 sub regions in this region, all of which are so diverse from each other that just to travel this regions to get a bird's eye view of Portugal.

Location of Alentejo
Alentejo is located to the north of Algarve, and is right in the middle of the country of Portugal, right where its heart should be.

Due to its central location Alentejo is accessible from all sides of Portugal and flights, trains and buses continuously ply their respective routes and the transport infrastructure is one of the best in the world.
