Rason Map

Earlier, Rason was a part of North Hamgyong Province. But in 1993, Rason was split from North Hamgyong Province to give birth to a new city of Rajin-Sonbong. The Directly Governed City of North Korea, Rason maintains a geographical boundary with Primorsky Krai of Russia and Jilin province of China.

The city of Rason covers an area of 746 square kilometers. The population recorded in Rason is an excess of 2 lakhs.
