The city of Anju (officially known as Anju-si in North Korea) is known for its natural beauty and provides tourists with a number of attractions. Ch'ongch'on River is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city. The tourists can take a boat ride through the Ch'ongch'on River to reach the Rangrim Mountains of Chagang Province. The Ch'ongch'on River flows through the city to merge into the Yellow Sea at Sinanju. Ch'ongch'on River, which is a renowned river of North Korea, covers a distance of 217 kilometers.

To avoid the menacing winter and incessant rainfall, visit the city in the months of May, June, September and October.
Anju is well-connected by air. Air Koryo, a North Korean airline, and China Southern, an airline of China, provide direct flights to Pyongyang from Beijing. Local transport is available for Anju, which is only a few kilometers away from Pyongyang.
