Best time to visit

The best time to visit Italy is from April to June and late September to October. August should be avoided because of the sultry weather and the summer break.

Make sure you carry your visas and all the necessary documents required for the journey. People of Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, France, and Spain need a valid passport for six months. Travelers have permission of staying for three months in Italy. Credit cards are accepted by branded companies or organizations. ATMs can be located at all major places.

Getting There :

Almost all major international airlines fly to Italy. Apart from airlines, there is a well-maintained and extensive network of railways and highways connecting the European countries. To avoid heavy fines while traveling in Italy, it is highly recommended to validate any rail, subway, and bus tickets bought to utilize the public transport system in Italy. If you are already in a neighboring country, such as France or Austria, you may want to drive to Italy.

Accommodation :

In Italy, you can accommodate in hotels, private houses, or religious institutions. Advanced reservations in hotels are recommended. Every hotel has a fixed rate in accordance with the Provincial Tourist Board. It must be noted that reservations are made from U.S. or Canadian travel agencies and not through Italian Government Travel offices. Private accommodation in homes or secular institutions is available through travel agencies in the concerned city. Day hotels are also available for a short stay.
