Mussels Luxembourg Style
is a very well-known recipe of Luxembourg. The two very special dishes of the Mussels Luxembourg Style
are the Moules Marinieres and the Moules a la Luxembourgeoise. This extremely salivating culinary delight is prepared from fish.
Ingredients for Mussels Luxembourg Style
- Clean mussels of 3-4 kilograms
- Carrot, leeks, shallots and onion
- Celery leaf with 1 large celery stick
- One bunch of parsley
- Garlic, Butter, Pepper and Salt
- 2 tarragon leaves
- Half bottle of Riesling wine
- Sprig of thyme
For preparing Mussels Luxembourg Style, it is taken care of that each the of shells of the mussels is completely closed. The shells have to be cleaned from any kind of impurity. Then the mussels are put in a water bowl. The mussels are then to be pressed and rubbed on both sides of the shell. The water has to be changed at least for 2 to 3 times.
The garlic has to be finely chopped and the vegetables are needed to be cleaned and chopped also. The butter has to be soft. The shallots and the onions are fried in butter after which the vegetables along with the thyme and tarragon are added to it. ¼ of the riesling wine is added and kept on seam for 25 minutes. Then the garlic is crushed and is mixed with 100 grams butter. A tinge of milled pepper is added. Then the pot has to be kept on high flame by putting the mussels into it with the rest of the wine. After every 2 minutes, stirring is required.
Mussels should open after 10 minutes when the garlic butter has to be added and in 2-3 minutes the sauce should be mixed up completely. Parsley is sprinkled and the dish is ready for serving.
