Irkeshtam

Irkeshtam is one of the cities in Kyrgyzstan, at a close proximity from another city of Osh, in the southern of the Kyrgyzstan. The path approaching this city is surrounded by breathtaking landscape and the mystical mountain ranges.

Irkeshtam in Kyrgyzstan enfolds a road along the Taldyk and Gulcho river valleys. The gorges that lay by these rivers to the village of Sary Tash or popularly called "Yellow Stone" in Kyrgyzmakes a lovely pattern of criss cross roads towards this city.

The west of Irkeshtam has the Kyzyl-Suu valley, and the south features the Kyzyl Art pass into the Gorno Badakshan region. This city of Irkeshtam lies at a very narrow gap with the Chinese border. For the inland transportation, the horses play a vital role in daily life of the inhabitants. The path along the city is very crude and thus the pony is the only sturdy animal who is the best friend of the Irkeshtam inhabitants in any kind of transportation activities. The animals that are predominant in this region are different breed of dogs, specially the German shepherds and many mongrels.

Irkeshtam city is more of a pass open for transportation of the Kyrgyz people at the Chinese border. But recently it is made into a modern town-ship like structure ever since 2002.
