Altyn Arashan

Altyn Arashan is situated in the Ak Suu valley, south of the Teplokluenchka village. The place is famous for hot and cold springs. Reaching the place is not very easy as the land is very steep and it is recommended to the tourists to come on 4WD vehicles. The natural beauty of Altyn Arashan in Kyrgyzstan is enhanced by the alpine forests which covers the area.

The area is infested with bears. Altyn Arashan has a small museum which displays stuffed animals found abundantly in the Altyn Arashan region. Arashan State Nature Reserve is very famous for botanical research work. Kyzyl Tash Cave and Ak Suu range are the other attractions of this region. Djergalan, Koi Djailoo, Tergen Ak Suu and Djergalan are the beautiful valleys in this region which attract tourists. Excellent trekking areas are found here but the travelers should make sure to get the permit. The permit is valid for 3 to 10 days. It is not difficult for the travelers to get the permit .Trekking routes can be availed from Karakol through Ala Kul Lake and the Djety Orguz valley. Hiking can only be enjoyed in summer because in winter the heavy snow blocks the path.
