Hurricane Patricia now a category 1 storm
Oct 24, 2015 (UTC-10.20 AM) - Hurricane Patricia, which slammed southwestern Mexico on Friday, had by Saturday morning considerably weakened. The strongest hurricane ever recorded had struck luxury resorts and villages. Patricia, which was a category 5 storm when it struck on Friday evening with sustained winds of 165 mph, had by Saturday morning become a category 1 storm with winds of 75 mph and was disintegrating fast.  

Hurricane Patricia: Floods and landslides threaten parts of Mexico
Oct 24, 2015 (UTC, 06.03 AM) -Major floods and landslides threaten parts of Mexico after Hurricane Patricia made landfall in the country. Recorded as one of the strongest storms in Americas, Patricia brought with it heavy winds and rain but no serious damages have been reported in the country. US National Hurricane Center said the Mexican states most at risk include, Michoacan, Nayarit, Guerrero, Jalisco and Colima.

Oct 24, 2015 (UTC, 05.13 AM) - Hurricane Patricia, which made landfall in Mexico on Friday as a category 5 storm, had by night weakened to a category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. However, the storm still remained extremely dangerous, said the National Hurricane Center. Patricia, which landed around 55 miles west-northwest of Manzanillo, lashed the coast with strong winds forcing residents and tourists in Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo to take shelter.

According to media reports, Mexican authorities have declared a state of emergency and have urged people to be prepared for the hurricane. With winds of at least 200 mph, Hurricane Patricia is expected to make landfall along Mexico’ Pacific coast on Friday.

Patricia threatens Mexico
Oct 23, 2015 (UTC, 01.13 PM)- The U.S. National Hurricane Center has recorded Hurricane Patricia as one of the strongest hurricanes. The hurricane, which bore down on Mexico’s Pacific coast, has 200-mph sustained winds and powerful gusts. Patricia, which is expected to make a landfall in southern Mexico later Friday, is expected to remain an extremely dangerous category 5 hurricane, as it has the potential to cause massive death and destruction.

Oct 23, 2015 - Hurricane Patricia, which is heading towards Mexico, has increased in strength to Category 5. Media reports quoted forecasters as saying that it is a potentially catastrophic hurricane. The National Hurricane Center said that the maximum sustained winds have increased to around 160 mph. The hurricane will probably weaken by Friday; however, late in the day it would make landfall on the Pacific coast near Punta San Telmo as a dangerous storm.
