Texas flood: Five Fort Hood soldiers dead, search on for the missing four

3 June, 2016:  Two more soldiers have been confirmed dead at Fort Hood after their military vehicle overturned. Three soldiers had died earlier. According to a statement issued by the base, search is on for the remaining four missing soldiers. The soldiers were victims of the Texas floods. Their vehicle has overturned at a low crossing near the Owl Creek at the Central Texas Army base.  


Six people killed in flood-related incidents in Texas: 

30 May, 2016: Six people have died in southeast Texas in flood-related incidents. As per media reports, four people were killed in Washington County, one in Travis County and another person died in Kendall County.  As per media reports, the rain stopped on Friday; however, many areas of the state are still clogged with flood waters. Rescue boats transported people, who were trapped in their cars and stranded in their homes, to safer places.

Two dead in heavy rains and flooding in Texas:

28 May, 2016: Two people were killed as devastating floods swept Texas. Media reports quoted authorities as saying that one person was found dead in a trailer home in Brenham. The person is believed to have drowned. A second person was found dead in a vehicle that was swept away by the floods. The person apparently died of a heart attack. Three people are reported missing.  


Flash Flood in Texas:

27 May, 2016: Texas received over 16 inches of rainfall forcing authorities to put into place flash flood emergencies. According to the National Weather Service, many of people who were trapped in flooded homes and cars were rescued. The flooding, heavy thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes began on Monday. Parts of Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri, have been badly affected by the thunderstorms.
