At times it becomes important to unwind, to do away with all the worries and tensions and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind. And what better way to do this than to spend a whole day filled with fun and frolic at a water park. The world is dotted with amazing water parks which come loaded with awesome features such as record-setting slides, exciting water rides, swimming pools, artificial surfing environment and other jaw-dropping attractions. Here we are listing the top 10 water parks in terms of attendance in 2015.
Covering an area of around 450 acres, the Chimelong Water Park is located in the Chinese city of Guangzhou and is one of the most famous water parks in the world. As per the TEA/AECOM 2015 data, in 2015, the water park witnessed an attendance of 2,352,000 people.
Comprising one of the largest outdoor wave pools in the world, the Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World is Located in Orlando, Florida. Currently one of the world’s second most visited water park, Typhoon Lagoon witnessed an attendance of 2,294,000 people in 2015. Blizzard Beach at Disney World, which is also located in Orlando city of Florida, was the third most visited water park in 2015. During the year, it witnessed an attendance of 2,107,000 people.
The fourth and fifth spots were occupied by the Bahamas Aquaventure Water Park, located in Paradise Island, (Nassau, New Providence), Bahamas, and Thermas dos Laranjais in Olimpia, Brazil. These water parks witnessed an attendance of 1,868,000 people and 1,761,000 people respectively. The two other US water parks that made it to the top 10 list were Aquatica and Wet ‘n Wild in Orlando, Florida at the 6th and 10th spots. Both these parks witnessed an attendance of 1,600,000 people and 1,310,000 people respectively in 2015.
The other water parks that made it to the list were Ocean World and Caribbean Bay in Gangwon-Do, South Korea, and Aquaventure Water Park in Dubai, UAE.
