Barcelona, Spain Terror Attack

13 people were killed and 130 injured when a man drove his van into pedestrians on La Ramba in the Spanish city of Barcelona on August 17, 2017. The attacker, who was identified as 22-year-old Younes Abouyaaqoub, escaped from the scene on foot. Abouyaaqoub later killed another person in order to steal the victim's car and make his escape. Just nine hours after the attack, one woman was killed when five men drove into pedestrians in nearby Cambrils. Six people were injured in the attack which is believed to have been carried out by members of the same terrorist cell. All the five men involved in the attack were killed. Younes Abouyaaqoub, who carried out the previous attack, was killed by the police on August 21.
