Westminster Terror Attack – Mar 22

On March 22, 2017, one lone terrorist, Khalid Masood, rammed his car into pedestrians who were on the pavement along the south side of Westminster Bridge and Bridge Street, London. After fleeing from his vehicle following the crash, Masood headed for the New Palace Yard where he stabbed to death an unarmed police officer. Masood was killed at the scene when the police opened fire upon him. Along with Khalid Masood and the unarmed police officer, four pedestrians were killed in the attack, while 49 people were injured. The Westminster terror attack was considered as Islamist-related terrorism. As per media reports, in a final text message, Masood claimed that he had taken revenge for the involvement of the Western military in Muslim countries in the Middle East.
