On September 15, 2017, an explosion occurred on the London Subway train at Parsons Green station. The attack, which took place during the morning rush hour, injured around 29 people. The cause of the explosion was a homemade bomb that partially exploded on an eastbound District line train. The bomb was in a white plastic bucket that was packed inside a shopping bag. The train was packed with commuters and many of them suffered from flash burns. An affiliate of the ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack; however, Home Secretary Amber Rudd ruled out the involvement of the militant group.
