Bob Dylan received the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature on April 1, 2017, at a private ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden. The ceremony was attended by academy 12 members. Bob Dylan was announced the winner in October 2016, With this achievement, Bob Dylan became the first songwriter to receive the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature. He had received the award “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition,” the Nobel committee said when the award was announced last October.
