Hurricane Harvey was an extremely destructive hurricane which struck the US on August 25, 2017. The hurricane was formed on August 17, 2017, and dissipated by September 3, 2017. The hurricane caused massive destruction and economic losses were in the range of $70 billion to $200 billion. It is considered to be the third costliest hurricane in the United States and wettest tropical cyclone on record in the country. The hurricane claimed at least 90 lives. Of these, 89 deaths were reported in the United States while one person was killed in Guyana. The storm severely affected the Southern and Eastern United States, especially Texas and Louisiana. The other regions which were severely affected were Windward Islands, Suriname, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, and Yucatan Peninsula.
