Ted Cruz wins two states, Hillary on a roll

The Democratic and Republican primaries and caucuses held on Saturday did spring up some surprises.  On the Republican side, Ted Cruz won two states – Maine and Kansas, while Louisiana and Kentucky went to Donald Trump. Ted Cruz wins have given momentum to his bid to become the main alternative to Donald Trump, who displayed a spectacular performance in the Super Tuesday contests that were held on March 1.  Meanwhile, it has been a very bad night for the other two Republican candidates – Marco Rubio and John Kasich. Rubio, who failed to pick up delegates at all in two states, will now find challenges in putting his case forward that he can unite the party behind him.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is cruising along. Though Bernie Sanders won two states, it was not enough to make a dent in Clinton’s huge delegate lead.
