Republicans ramp up publicity efforts for Democrats' convention

Republicans are set to unleash an aggressive publicity effort at the Democratic convention, which kicks off on Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney takes a break from the campaign trail in New Hampshire, his running mate Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan and other Republican officials are set to descend on the Democratic National Convention.

In a press release issued by the Romney campaign, the party’s members will "bracket" the convention with a new emphasis on the question: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?"

"Every president since the Great Depression, except Jimmy Carter and President Obama, who asked for a second term could look back at the last four years and say: "you are better off than you were four years ago," stated the press release.

Romney will spend much of the week in Vermont to prepare for his three debates against Obama.

The three televised debates are set to take place one October 3, 16 and 22.
