New Yorkers allowed to vote at any polling station

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that New Yorkers affected by superstorm Sandy would be allowed to vote at any polling station by presenting an affidavit.

Cuomo said he had signed an executive order enabling voters to cast ballots at voting stations other than the ones to which they were assigned to.

He added at a press conference that his order came due to mounting concern that thousands of New York residents could be disenfranchised by the damage to many polling places caused by Sandy a week ago.
